Among the people anticipating the move are Arianna Huffington from the Huffington Post, James Pitaro from Yahoo, Josh Cohen from Google’s News team, Dan Abrahms from NBC, David Eun from AOL, Johnathan Geller from Boy Genius Report and Cindi Leive from Glamour; all of whom participated in a panel discussion on the future of media at New York University during Internet Week in the city, attended by Wired.

While the panel almost universally condemned Murdoch’s plans, they did offer a selection of nuggets of advice for any other site contemplating whether it can make a paywall work. So, paraphrased a little, here’s their five basic requirements for getting people to pay for your content.
